Using Virtual Instruments

Using Virtual Instruments gives you the ability to add any instrument to your song, without knowing how to play the instrument. This means that by learning how to add a Virtual Instrument in your project you’ll be able to enhance your songs with more instruments and produce new beats or instrumentals from nothing.

An AudioHouse studio provides everything you need to add Virtual Instruments to your projects - today.

Step 1

Turn on the keyboard.

(no, you don’t need to know how to play the piano)

Before logging into the studio computer, or plugging in your laptop, make sure that the AudioHouse keyboard is turned on. You’ll know the keyboard is on if the Power button is illuminated. If it is not, simply press the Power button to turn on the keyboard.

The following steps assume that you are using AudioHouse’s Studio Computer.

Step 2

Login, and create a project.

Once the keyboard is on, login to the studio computer with the same username and password you used when booking a recording session online. After you’ve logged in, create a project by clicking Start a project.

Step 3

Select the Piano + Vocals template.

The Piano + Vocals template will have all of the correct settings pre-configured for you to use Virtual Instruments. It also has vocal tracks pre-setup with automated mixing and mastering effects that will fit smoothly with your virtual instruments.

Step 4

Name & open your project.

Once you’ve named your project, click Create and then wait for your project to finish being created. Once it’s finished, just click Start Recording to open your project.

Step 5

Duplicate the MIDI Piano track

If you plan on adding more than one Virtual Instrument to your project, it’s best to duplicate the MIDI Piano track before you’ve done any recording. To duplicate the track, right click on the track and click Duplicate tracks on the menu that appears.

Step 6

Rename the track

Rename the track to match the instrument you’d like to add to your project.

Step 7

Rename the track

Rename the track to match the instrument you’d like to add to your project.
