Mic Placement

Audio House mics are mounted on a movable boom arm for easy placement.

Choosing The Microphone

The large upright microphones are best used for vocals and capturing detail in your instrument.

The smaller “pencil” looking microphones are best used close to acoustic instruments to capture the body of the instrument.

Starting Placement

Adjust the microphone(s) by grabbing the top of the boom arm and gently moving it to the desired position.

If you don’t already know your desired mic placement, start with the microphone about 6 inches away from the audio source.

Experiment

Try out different placement using distance, angle, and direction of the microphone to alter the recorded sound. Tilt the mic up/down, left/right, forward/back and listen for how the sound changes. Adjust the mic position accordingly.
